A New DSR Routing Protocol for MANET

This paper presents a new Ad hoc Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol based on mobility prediction, named as MDSR. The algorithm controls route discovery, route keeping and route switching according to the distance and mobility estimation of the neighbor nodes. We have implemented this protocol using a modified NS2 and studied its performance. Simulation results show that MDSR reduces the end-to-end delay effectively and enhance the real-time characteristics.
